11 Lies People Tell Me About Christianity
There’s thousands of religions out there. A single one cannot be true.
There’s billions of places you can send your tax money to, but only one place that will keep you out of tax court. If you don’t know where to send your tax money, it means you haven’t tried to find out.
You can try to make a triangle with any number of different sides, but you can only do it successfully with three sides.
Christians have started more wars and killed more people than anyone else in history.
Secular and atheistic governments have killed far more people.
Robespierre’s Cult of Pure Reason lead to the deaths of 27,000 people in Paris. Stalin in the atheistic Soviet Union intentionally starved 6 million in Ukraine for not supporting communism and 20 million for suspicion of not supporting him. Pol Pot killed 2 million people. Mao’s Great Leap Forward in atheist China killed 40 million people.
Think of all the people who died before hearing about Christianity. Are they all headed to hell?
Jesus told his listeners:
The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.

If this queen traveled the earth just to hear about Solomon, how much more so can people today seek out and find the truth about someone so much greater than Solomon? How much easier and better it is to find Jesus!
The Bible has been translated and edited so many times by people who want to control the masses. How can you trust it?
Back in the 1940’s ancient manuscripts were discovered called the dead sea scrolls. They were a thousand years older than any of the manuscripts we had before. Was the text different from what we were reading in the Bible at the time?

Basically kids were taking the same text to Sunday school as a copy written a thousand years before the earliest manuscript we had previously.

The Dead Sea scrolls are authentic. They look very old because they are.
Jesus never existed. Josephus and Tacitus were not living at the same time as Jesus, so they didn’t even see him.
Two of the most respected historians in history wrote about Jesus and affirmed his existence. Usually historians are not required to be eye witnesses of anything they write about.
If we were to throw out all the content in our history books that was not written down by the historians themselves who eye witnessed them, we would have to tear out 90% of what the history books say.

Many people from the first century who were eye witnesses also wrote Jesus and believed him including: Paul, Matthew, Mark, John, Luke and the other writers of the Bible.
Catholic priests abuse children. Doesn’t this mean Christianity is a force for evil?

Christianity is okay with homosexuality.
No it isn’t:
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Jesus never opposed homosexuality.
This is what he said:
He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? Matthew 19:4–5 ESV
Christianity promotes slavery. Why didn’t God just say it was evil and stop it from ever happening?
When Jesus was asked who he was and what he was going to set people free from, he told them:
Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin
John 8:34b
In Jesus’ way of looking at it, the inner despair and death we have inside from being enslaved to moral failure is far worse than the human institution of slavery.
In recent history, people looked to government to solve all their problems, but Jesus wants people to make good choices and purify themselves and not because the government automatically perfects their circumstances or forces them to make good choices.
Christians are miserable.
