5 Flimsy Things People Tell Christians
People often carry an army of reasons around when they feel insecure about their opinions.
It doesn’t take much effort to see through them.
So here are 5 ways people give flimsy excuses for the poor life choices.
“Your views are ‘dogma’ (but my views aren’t)”
This is another case where people defer to dictionaries to push a contrived view point on us. As if people had never used language before dictionaries or the dictionaries can live our lives for us.
Maybe the problem is your views aren’t actually saying anything.
“Science has replaced the need for religion.”
Albert Einstein said a lot about how science is limited and could never hope to tell us what morals we should follow or whether there is a God or even how to interpret data.
Check out Einstein’s explosive claims here !
“Jesus was a Marxist.”
The people who say Jesus was a Marxist are not cool with a lot of Jesus’ teachings such as sexual purity or marriage being between “one man and one woman”.
But they think they have the authority to speak about who Jesus was as people who are not following His teachings or even reading them.
“Jesus wasn’t a Christian, so Christianity is false.”
This is merely playing around with words, and it’s hard to see how it conveys anything on any level.
The word “Christian” just means “a little version of Christ”. How could Jesus be a little version of Himself ?
Could we say all followers have false views because their leader wasn’t a follower ?
This is a shallow argument against having ideals and the devotion God calls us to.
